Grilled Asparagus with Lemon and Parmesan

Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 10 minutes | Servings: 4

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus spears, tough ends trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  1. Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 375-400°F (190-200°C).

  2. Prepare the Asparagus: Place the trimmed asparagus spears in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the asparagus. Toss well to coat evenly.

  3. Season: Season the asparagus with salt and pepper according to your taste.

  4. Grill the Asparagus: Place the asparagus spears directly onto the preheated grill. Grill for about 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until the asparagus is tender and lightly charred.

  5. Serve: Remove the grilled asparagus from the grill and transfer to a serving platter. Squeeze the juice from the remaining lemon half over the asparagus. Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.

  6. Enjoy: Serve immediately as a delicious and nutritious side dish to complement your favorite grilled meats or as a tasty addition to salads.

Chef's Tips:

  • Make sure to trim the tough ends of the asparagus before grilling to ensure even cooking.
  • For added flavor, try sprinkling with additional grated Parmesan cheese or garnishing with chopped fresh herbs like parsley or basil before serving.
  • If you prefer softer asparagus, grill for a few minutes longer until desired tenderness is achieved.
